Nathaniel Peat is an academic and successful entrepreneur, pilot, musician, martial arts expert and public speaker with an insatiable appetite for success. In 1997 Nathaniel embarked on his journey with a BEng (hons) Degree in Mechanical Engineering with Aeronautics (Brunel University) he then went on to study for his Master of Science degree in Advanced Systems Engineering. During his years at university, Nathaniel’s personal interests encouraged his proactive involvement in several organisations. Nathaniel’s strong entrepreneurial nature soon led him to be dubbed the ‘young black Richard Branson’. In his 29 years he has already achieved more than most have in a lifetime. From a young age his passion for both music and martial arts have seen him professionally exceed in both these areas.
As a highly acclaimed musician Nathaniel has performed at many prestigious concerts worldwide and is constantly inundated with bookings for private functions. Following his membership of Haringey Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra (1994-1997) Nathaniel decided to share his passion for playing music through one-to-one private tuition of the saxophone and violin respectively whilst at University where he was awarded a music bursary for his contribution to music.
With over 20 years experience in martial arts, Nathaniel (who has achieved sensei status - (Japanese title meaning “honourable, accomplished teacher”) holds the rank of 4th Dan (degree) Black Belt in Karate and is a well respected instructor and coach. His solid knowledge in authentic martial arts extends several disciplines including Karate, Ju-Jitsu and Kobudo (weapons). Currently the Vice President of Yudansha Kobujitsu Karatedoh Federation (United Kingdom), to date Peat Sensei has coached students up to National level helping them to achieve various national titles.
Equipped with this strict discipline, Nathaniel has used his martial arts training as the backbone to his company, The Safety Box. In his mission to make a difference in society, The Safety Box seeks to encourage and develop youngsters into achieving and bettering themselves through a wide range of interpersonal courses. Specifically tailored in line with the national curriculum the courses are taught through PSHE classes in schools in and around the capital, dealing with conflict resolution, anti-social behaviour, confidence building and personal safety. Recently Nathaniel has been publicly accredited for his hard work at 2007/08 nationwide Enterprising Young Brits Awards (Make Your Mark).
Nathaniel scooped two awards, beating 20 strong finalists, including the people’s Choice Award presented by Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
Following the success of his many ventures (thus far) Nathaniel continues to pursue his goals and has since launched 2 more businesses the first being Creative Well Being International which is about bringing all aspects of feeling good, feeling inspired, being healthy and looking beautiful under one umbrella – it is a holistic approach to feeling good. The second being Focus Vue Imaging, which supply and produce perforated pressure sensitive window vinyl film for see-through window graphics. The film is perforated over 50% of its surface to achieve a one way visibility used for advertising.
Nathaniel in his short time has already had numerous UK Television appearances covering every major UK TV channel these include interviews for BBC 1, ITV, GMTV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and Sky 1. He has also contributed to short documentaries relating to youth violence.
His most recent TV appearance was on an entrepreneur BBC reality program called The Last Millionaire where he won after starting a business from scratch in Cairo, Egypt beating fellow entrepreneurs that failed to make a substantial enough profit. http://www.bbc.co.uk/lastmillionaire/entrepreneurs/nathaniel.shtml
